Marc Gainor, DMD, is an experienced dentist with over 33 years of experience in private practice. He leads the team at Rockefeller Dentistry in the Midtown East neighborhood of New York, New York.
In 1977, Dr. Gainor graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University Of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1981. He then completed a postgraduate general practice residency in dentistry at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, in 1982.
Dr. Gainor is strongly committed to continuing education. He has completed the prestigious Pankey Institute restorative and Spear Institute mastery continuum. He also took advanced coursework at the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida, and the Strupp Postgraduate School of Dentistry.
In 1987 Dr. Gainor became a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. This recognition represents over 500 hours of post-doctoral education and successful completion of a written exam given by the Academy.
In 2006, he was awarded the title of Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, the highest distinction conferred by the Academy. Less than 2% of all dentists nationwide have achieved this honor. Dr. Gainor has completed over 2400 hours of continuing education since completing his residency.
Dr. Gainor is very involved in organized dentistry and loves teaching. He has presented numerous educational programs on occlusion (bite), TMJ dysfunction, and orthodontics to his colleagues at local dental societies.
He is currently the general chairman of the Greater New York Dental Meeting, the largest Dental Convention/Exposition in the United States. Dr. Gainor was recently honored with the Academy of General Dentistry Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition award.
Dr. Gainor is also a proud member of several dental organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the New York County Dental Society, to name a few.
